Bay of Islands Day Cruise with Snorkelling and Lunch

The tour departs at 7:45am and returns at 3pm. Total cruise time is 6 hours Location: Driving directions from Auckland - Take State Highway 1 north out of Auckland. (This is the main North/South Motorway that runs through Auckland.) From Kawakawa the Bay of Islands is signposted. The Paihia Wharf is in the middle of the small township and is easy to spot on your right hand side as you drive into town Itinerary You’ll get picked up at 8.30 am at the Paihia Wharf by our sea shuttle who will take you on a smooth cruise to a remote and quiet bay where The Rock has been anchored overnight. After arrival and a quick safety brief we will begin cruising through the islands before you begin your adventure with a snorkelling experience. Enjoy the abundant reefs and amazing underwater world the Bay Of Islands has to offer you. If conditions are calm, we’ll gather mussels or kina from the kelp-covered outer reefs during the snorkelling. You can try them on the way home (along with the unique experience of eating sea urchins raw if you’re brave enough) After snorkelling you can explore the Islands, visit locations of historic and cultural significance, enjoy awesome scenery and swim in clear lagoons. From these locations you can take part in all sorts of outdoor activities: kayaking, snorkelling, gathering fresh sea food, exploring WWII remains, trekking across islands and visiting ancient Maori fortifications You’ll learn to paddle a kayak in safe, blue waters and explore the coastline and sea caves for the more experienced. You will have time to enjoy the remote beac hes - perfect for a game of beach cricket or volley ball. Explore the islands on foot and climb to some of the most beautiful lookout points for views across the Bay of Islands On the homeward cruise, we’ll enjoy those mussels, freshly steamed, and watch out for the abundant marine and bird life…hopefully we’ll even see dolphins! We arrive back at Paihia wharf at approximately 3pm
