Shipping suspension period Shipping services will be on hold from May 27 – June 1, 2026 due to the Eid Al-Adha holiday. Resumption of services Shipping will gradually resume from June 2, 2026 and return to normal shortly after. Booking Guidelines: The name and country of residence entered when booking must be an exact match to the passports used when boarding. You must book your JR Hokuriku before traveling to or entering Japan. It is recommended to book the JR Pass at least 2 weeks before your trip to Japan. The date selected on the calendar is not the date of activation, but the date you intend to leave to Japan. Once purchased, you will receive an Exchange Order. You will receive one Exchange Order per person. Exchange physical vouchers (not e-tickets) You have 90 days from the Exchange Order’s issuance date to swap the Exchange Order for the actual, physical JR Pass in Japan at an Official Exchange Office. Once exchanged in Japan, you have 30 days to activate your JR Pass and start travelling on the trains. If you book for over 90 days in advance, the booking will not instantly confirm. You will receive your Exchange Order within 90 days before your planned visit date to Japan. Pass Eligibility: Valid only for non-Japanese passport holders with a "Temporary Visitor" Visa stamp on the passport. Non Japanese passport holders with a permanent residence in Japan cannot use this product. Secure a Temporary Visitor Stamp at immigration to be eligible for a JR Pass. Do not pass through the automated gates, as no stamp will be applied. A customer under the Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) will be required to confirm the “Temporary Visitor” status. Japanese passport holders who have been residing outside of Japan for 10+ years are eligible to use a JR pass if they have 1) a valid Japanese passport and 2) a Copy of Overseas Residential Registration/Certificate of Overseas Residence from the Japanese embassy or legation of Japan in your foreign country of residence.
