It was renovated in 2017 under the supervision of Okayama-born industrial designer Eiji Mitooka. The interior of the ship, where all seats are non-reserved, is a luxurious and elegant space that combines styles from all ages and cultures like a mandala, with colorful sliding door paintings, Japanese umbrellas, and ceiling paintings. Royal Princess Embark on this two-story ship (capacity: 500 persons), one of the largest sightseeing boats in the Kansai region. The third floor is a roofless sky deck with a 360° view of the Kobe cityscape with Mt. Rokko in the background. The Royal Princess also passes under the Kobe Bridge in every cruise, so passengers will get to see an amazing view of the bridge.
