What to expect

Mutianyu Great Wall is a renowned section of Beijing's Great Wall and a highlight of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall.

- **Location**: Situated in Mutianyu Village, Huairou District, it connects Gubeikou in the east and Huanghuacheng/Badaling in the west. A strategically important military stronghold, it guarded the capital and imperial mausoleums.

- **Scenic Features**: The main pass tower, built in 1404, features three connected watchtowers (two stories high) — a rare design. Watchtowers are densely spaced (one every 100 meters). It boasts double-sided battlements, inner/outer auxiliary walls, and unique landscapes like "Niujiaojiao (Ox Horn Edge)" and "Yingfei Daoyang (Eagle Soaring Upside Down)" with precipitous terrain.

- **Activities**: Home to the "No.1 Cable Car of the Great Wall" (723m long, safe and efficient) and the Shibide Slideway (1580m long, thrilling). The Great Wall Culture Exhibition Center offers in-depth insights into its history and culture.
