Lasting for around 5-hours the experience sees you travel through the beautiful Otago countryside from Wanaka to Twin Falls, a 60-metre high waterfall. It's from the base of this waterfall that your adventure truly begins as you ascend the rock cliffs of the waterfall by climbing up the Via Ferrata course. The route is made up of steel cables, ladders, suspension bridges and wires, which makes for an awesome experience for all who are brave enough. Reaching incredible heights and admiring breathtaking views of the surrounding Otago region, you'll be well rewarded for all of your hard work. Ideal for active beginners comfortable with heights, this is one of the best experiences for adults and children alike as the tour caters for children as young as 13 years of age. All necessary equipment is supplied including harnesses, helmets, lanyards and more, as is all necessary training and safety briefings from your experienced guide. Must be able to climb a ladder, walk on uneven terrain, move through steep exposed cliffs and be active for up to 5 hours * Minimum age for the Via Ferrata Tours is 12 years. Anybody under the age of 16 years must climb with an adult guardian * Minimum height is 120cm * Standard harnesses have a minimum weight of 40kg and maximum weight limit of 100kgs * Be prepared for walking up and down trails that are steep in sections * You will be climbing ladder rungs that run next to the waterfall and crossing bridges over the waterfall. You will be required to clip and unclip your via ferrata lanyard along the way * You will not get wet, however, you may get your feet wet at times. There are opportunities to swim in hidden pools and picnic along the way. * The activity is not difficult, however you will be required to climb up ladder rungs.
