Shaoxing Jinghu Wetland Natural Science Museum is located in Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City. According to information from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage in September 2020, it currently has 5,390 pieces/sets of collections. In June 2022, it was included in the list of Zhejiang Provincial Museums (Memorial Halls) (2021). The museum consists of two exhibition halls: the "Natural Ecology Exhibition Hall (Mysteries of the Animal Kingdom)" and the "Triassic Paleontological Fossils Exhibition Hall (Ancient Marine Fossils Exhibition Hall)".

  • Natural Ecology Pavilion: The building area is more than 5,400 square meters, and the exhibition area is more than 3,600 square meters. More than 5,000 biological specimens are exhibited. Among them, the plastination specimen technology is a new specimen preservation technology that can fully display the internal structure and decomposition system morphology of organisms, so as to understand their functions and the occurrence and development of organisms. Plastinated specimens are used for specimen display and scientific research teaching in museums, especially suitable for biology teaching for primary and secondary school students.
  • Triassic Paleontological Fossils Exhibition Hall: The building area is more than 1,600 square meters, and the exhibition area is more than 1,500 square meters. It mainly exhibits various paleontological fossil specimens of the Mesozoic Triassic that are unique to China. The Mesozoic Triassic geological period is an extremely important geological history period in the history of earth evolution and paleontological development, showing a magnificent picture of sea and land changes and biological evolution from 250 million to 200 million years ago. The fossil specimens displayed in the museum are carefully selected from the early Triassic paleontological fossils, including ichthyosaurs, sea lilies and other ancient marine organisms. A total of 36 species and more than 270 exhibits are on display. Among them, 58 exhibits are very precious fossil samples, which have attracted the attention of paleontological experts at home and abroad.
