Local Legends & Stories
The Children's Museum Singapore embodies the nation's commitment to fostering curious, creative minds from an early age, reflecting Singapore's vision of developing well-rounded citizens. By celebrating local themes like hawker culture and Singapore's heritage, the museum roots children's wonder in their own community's stories and traditions.

Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
Visit during weekday mornings (9am–11am slots) to enjoy smaller crowds and a more relaxed pace, as weekends and school holidays see higher visitor numbers. The museum is equally enjoyable year-round, though visiting during Singapore's major cultural celebrations (Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya) coincides with special festive workshops and themed exhibits. Weather is less of a concern as the entire museum is air-conditioned and indoors, making it ideal for escaping Singapore's heat and humidity.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture candid moments of your child engaged in hands-on activities—the genuine joy and concentration on their faces tell the best stories.
-
Take photos during the 9am–11am time slots when natural light streams through any windows and crowds are minimal, allowing clearer shots without busy backgrounds.
-
Respect any signage regarding photography restrictions, particularly in spaces designed for focused sensory play or during guided workshops.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Singapore is a multicultural society, and the museum celebrates this diversity through exhibits featuring hawker culture, festivals, and traditions from Chinese, Malay, Indian, and other communities. Encourage children to engage respectfully with all cultural displays, learning to appreciate and celebrate Singapore's unique blend of traditions. Polite, quiet behaviour is valued in museum settings, so remind children to use indoor voices and handle displays gently.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Seasonal festive workshops align with major cultural celebrations like Chinese New Year and Deepavali, featuring cultural crafts and storytelling tied to Singapore's diverse heritage.
-
Birthday party packages and group workshop sessions are available, offering customized experiences for school groups and celebrations throughout the year.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Ensure constant supervision of your child throughout their visit, as the interactive nature of exhibits means children may wander into different zones quickly.
-
Check that all hands-on activities are age-appropriate for your child and that they don't mouth unfamiliar objects, as some sensory play elements are designed for touching and exploring.
-
Apply hand sanitizer after hands-on activities, particularly before eating at the café, as communal play equipment is touched by many children daily.
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
Ticket pricing typically includes standard admission with discounts available for toddlers (under 2–3 years) and group bookings, though it's recommended to check HolidaySG.com for current rates and any combo deals bundled with other attractions. Family passes and season memberships may offer better value for frequent visitors.
Visit Duration
Plan for 2–3 hours for a thorough, unhurried exploration of the galleries and hands-on activities, allowing your child to fully engage without feeling rushed. If time is limited, prioritize the rotating exhibits and Time-Travel Galleries, then visit the toddler zones if you have younger children, as these typically offer the most memorable first-time experiences.
Accessibility
The museum features wheelchair access throughout with accessible restrooms and elevators to navigate multi-level galleries, ensuring children with mobility needs can explore comfortably. Staff are trained to assist visitors with special needs, and dedicated quiet spaces are available for children who may become overwhelmed.
