The Marshal Zen Garden was once used as the Japanese Officers Club, and later in World War II, it was converted into a guest house for the Japanese kamikaze team. After the war, it was changed to the residence where Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned. Although the Zen Garden building has been restored as it was, the interior furnishings have changed beyond recognition. The former master bedroom, guest room, study and dressing room have been converted into a restaurant - "Han Qing Hall". The style of the restaurant is a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Western styles. There are Chinese-style mahogany carved tables and chairs, Japanese-style rice paddies, and Western-style dining tables. If you want to find traces of the young marshal in the past, you may wish to visit the restaurant in the Zen Garden. This restaurant was rebuilt from the master bedroom of the year. On the wall is a group photo of Zhang Xueliang and Miss Zhao Si when they lived in Taiwan in 1947. On both sides are the inscriptions of Yu Youren: Keep the world upright, and the ancients and the moderns are perfect. On the "Historical Corridor" outside the restaurant, there are many old black and white photos of Zhang Xueliang, which silently describe the young marshal's life in confinement when he raised orchids, obsessed with Beijing opera, and played mahjong in Taiwan. In addition, the restaurant also has a tea house, and the open-air cafe overlooks the entire Beitou landscape with a wide field of vision.
