About (Free eSIM) Half Day City Temples & Grand Palace with Halal Buffet Lunch
Discover Bangkok's most iconic Buddhist temples on this half-day guided tour, visiting the magnificent Wat Trimitr with its 5.5-ton Golden Buddha, the sprawling Wat Po complex featuring a 46-metre reclining Buddha, and other architectural wonders. Enjoy a delicious halal buffet lunch and benefit from round-trip shared transfers, making this the perfect introduction to Bangkok's spiritual heart for Muslim and non-Muslim travellers alike.
Local Legends & Stories
Wat Trimitr's Golden Buddha was hidden inside a plaster casing for decades during wars and unrest, only rediscovered in the 1950s when the casing cracked during relocation. Wat Po, built in the 16th century, remains the oldest and most revered temple in Bangkok, serving as a centre for traditional Thai massage education and Buddhist scholarship for centuries.
Must Do Experiences
-
Marvel at the gleaming Golden Buddha statue in Wat Trimitr, one of the world's largest solid gold Buddha images

-
Free eSIM provided for connectivity throughout the tour, ensuring you can navigate and share your experience seamlessly
-
Combines three of Bangkok's most spiritually significant temples in one focused half-day itinerary rather than spreading across multiple days
Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
Visit between November and February when Bangkok's weather is cooler and less humid, making temple exploration more comfortable. Morning tours starting at 8:00 AM are ideal as temples are less crowded and lighting is excellent for photography. Avoid visiting during Thai Buddhist holidays and the hot season (March-May) when temperatures exceed 35°C.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture the Golden Buddha in Wat Trimitr with soft morning light coming through the windows for the best shimmer and detail
-
Photograph the reclining Buddha at Wat Po from multiple angles, but avoid using flash as it's disruptive to the sacred space
-
The ornate temple roofs and chedis offer stunning architectural shots—photograph them during golden hour for dramatic colours
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Buddhism is deeply revered in Thailand; treat all Buddha images and monks with utmost respect and never photograph monks without permission. Dress modestly in covered clothing, especially inside temples, and always remove footwear before entering sacred halls. While tipping isn't mandatory, it's appreciated for exceptional service; 10-20 baht or rounding up is customary.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Visakha Bucha (typically May) celebrates Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death with candlelit processions around temples and increased visitor numbers
-
Loy Krathong (typically November) transforms temple grounds into magical evening celebrations, though day tours may not capture this nighttime festival
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Stay hydrated and use high-SPF sunscreen even during early morning hours, as the Bangkok sun reflects strongly off temple surfaces
-
Keep valuables secure in a small bag worn in front of you, especially in busy temple areas and during the shared transfer
-
Be cautious of loose tiles or uneven temple floors while exploring courtyards, particularly after rain
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
This tour typically includes temple entry fees in the quoted price, though small optional donations (20-100 baht) are welcomed at each temple. The halal buffet lunch is included, with no additional charges for standard menu items, though beverages may incur additional costs depending on tour operator terms.
Visit Duration
Plan for approximately 4-5 hours including transfers and lunch, from 8:00 AM to around 1:00 PM. If short on time, prioritise Wat Trimitr's Golden Buddha and Wat Po's reclining Buddha, as these are the most iconic and spiritually significant sites.
Accessibility
Wat Trimitr and Wat Po both offer wheelchair access to main temple areas, though some elevated sections and stairs may require assistance. Most restrooms are equipped with accessible facilities, and staff can assist visitors with mobility challenges.

Overview
Bangkok’s Buddhist temples are world famous and this tour takes us to three of the most unusual ones that this city has to offer. We start at the ornate Wat Trimitr which is situated at the end of buzzing Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road, and also near to Hua Lampong train station. This temple is home to a vast invaluable Golden Buddha that weighs five-and-half tons adding to this remarkable site. Next is the largest temple complex in Bangkok, Wat Po, which has an impressive reclining Buddha that is 46 metres in length as well as ornate chedis. No temple tour is complete without a visit to the gleaming Grand Palace which is one of the most beautiful examples of a traditional Siamese Court. Previously the residence of royalty, there are a number of different venues for different occasions including the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House and the famed Emerald Buddha Temple.. Halal Buffet Lunch included. Drop off at centralwOrld
