How many days do I need for Machu Picchu and Cusco?

Most travelers spend 3-4 days in Cusco for acclimatization before heading to Machu Picchu to reduce altitude sickness risk. A full-day Sacred Valley tour covers the major sites and is a great introduction. Plan to arrive in Cusco at least two full days before your Machu Picchu visit for proper acclimatization.
