Is Laos worth visiting compared to its neighbors?

Absolutely — it's the most laid-back Southeast Asian country with incredible temples, the stunning Mekong river, and a fraction of the tourists. Luang Prabang is magical at dawn when monks walk through town. The 4000 Islands in the south are paradise if you enjoy slow travel.
