What are sleeper trains actually like? Looking at Hanoi to Da Nang route.

This came up while I was booking and now I'm second-guessing myself.
Any input appreciated.

They're generally decent value and a fun experience, though the mattresses are thin and toilets get grim by morning. Splurge on the 4-berth soft sleeper over the 6-berth hard sleeper for more space and AC control.
