Would really appreciate input on when is the best time to see cherry blossoms in Kyoto without huge crowds from people who've actually been to Japan.

Aim for late March to early April, but target the week before peak bloom (around March 20‑25) or visit early on weekdays. The Philosopher’s Path and Maruyama Park are far quieter then, giving you great photo opportunities.
