Sample authentic Roman cuisine in the Monti neighborhood just a short walk from Termini, and take an evening stroll along the Tiber River to see the illuminated bridges and historic landmarks glow under the night sky.
Hidden Gems
-
The shuttle drops you at Termini, but most travelers don't realize you can walk to the breathtaking Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in under 10 minutes — a UNESCO-listed treasure with stunning golden mosaics. Look out the bus window on the approach to Rome for glimpses of the ancient Appian Way and rolling Roman countryside, a surprisingly scenic route most tourists miss. Termini's underground parking garage has a surprisingly affordable and secure luggage storage option if you want to explore the city hands-free before your return shuttle.

Economical and cost-effective: significantly cheaper than a taxi while offering flexible one-way or round-trip packages to suit any budget. 50-minute express direct service: skip the stops and transfers of public transport and arrive at Termini in half the time. Hassle-free convenience: instant mobile QR code confirmation, onboard WiFi, and luggage storage make this the smoothest way to start or end your Roman journey.

Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture the dramatic approach to Rome from the bus window — the ancient aqueducts and golden Tuscolano hills make for stunning backdrops. At Termini Station, photograph the grand architecture of the historic main hall before boarding your next adventure. If your shuttle arrives during golden hour, the view of St. Peter's Dome from the Termini area is an unforgettable shot.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Italians value polite greetings, so a simple 'Buongiorno' (good morning) or 'Buonasera' (good evening) when boarding the shuttle or interacting with staff goes a long way. Tipping is not expected on shuttle services, but rounding up or leaving small change is appreciated for helpful drivers. When at Termini Station, be mindful of your surroundings — it's a busy hub, and keeping belongings close is standard practice in Italian cities.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) to Termini Train Station round-trip bus: Buy and go/convenient and fast Transport Passes
The Roman Forum was built in the 7th century BC and is one of the oldest among Rome's many forums. Originally an Etruscan burial ground, it later became the center of law, administration, commerce, and religion in ancient Rome.
Main attractions
The main attractions include the Curia, Lapis Niger, Millarium Aureum, Rostrum, and Casa delle Vestali.
Square history
After the 4th century AD, the Roman Forum gradually lost its significance and was even used as pastureland. It wasn't until the 18th century that systematic excavation and preservation of the forum ruins began, a project that continues to this day.
Visiting guide
The Roman Forum is bordered by the Colosseum to the east, Palatine Hill to the south, and Capitoline Hill to the north. It has three entrances located at the Lupa Capitolina statue on Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Sacred Way (Via Sacra) opposite the Colosseum, and Via Foro Romano.
When you first see the Roman Forum, you might think it's just a pile of marble blocks and ruins. But with a little patience and attention, you'll discover layers of profound history everywhere, making it truly worth exploring.
East side of the square
On the eastern side of the Roman Forum, you can admire the ruins of the Basilica of Maxentius (also known as the Basilica of Constantine), the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the Temple of Divus Julius, the Basilica Aemilia, the Curia, the Lapis Niger, and the remains of the ancient Roman Rostrum.
West side of the square
After visiting the buildings on the eastern side of the Roman Forum, you can retrace your steps along the Via Sacra to admire the scenery on the western side. Here, you can see the remaining foundation of the Basilica Julia and the ruins of the Temple of Castor and Pollux. To the right of the Basilica Julia, there is a gap leading to the Cloaca Maxima, the ancient Roman sewer. At the end of the path is the fenced-off Santa Maria Antigua, which houses exquisite murals dating back to the 7th and 8th centuries.
