Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The tour runs year-round starting at 12:30 pm, making it ideal for those wanting to experience Bangkok's afternoon energy. Visit during November to February for cooler, drier weather and clearer skies for photography. Avoid September to October when monsoon rains are heaviest, and expect moderate crowds during these cooler months—aim for weekdays if possible to enjoy a more intimate experience.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture Wat Arun's golden spires during the late afternoon when sunlight casts warm tones across the porcelain details
-
Shoot the longtail boat journey from the boat's bow to frame canal-side houses and reflections in still water
-
Photograph Museum Siam's artifact displays without flash to preserve the lighting and detail of historical pieces
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Remove your shoes before entering temple areas and show respect by keeping your posture upright; pointing at religious statues or Buddha images is considered disrespectful. Tipping is not mandatory but appreciated—a small tip for your guide (50-100 baht) is customary for excellent service.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Experience enhanced temple ceremonies during Visakha Bucha (May) when Wat Arun hosts candlelit evening processions
-
Visit during Loy Krathong (November) when the Chao Phraya River transforms into a magical display of floating lanterns, adding spiritual atmosphere to your tour
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Stay close to your guide during canal navigation and keep your belongings secure, especially on the longtail boat where pickpocketing can occur
-
Apply mosquito repellent before the boat ride, particularly during dawn and dusk hours when insects are most active
-
Drink plenty of bottled water throughout the tour to stay hydrated in Bangkok's tropical heat and humidity
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
Standard admission is included in your tour package. No separate tickets required for Museum Siam or Wat Arun. Group discounts may apply for bookings of 10 or more people.
Visit Duration
Plan for the full 4-hour tour (12:30 pm to 4:30 pm) to experience all three attractions without rushing. If time is limited, prioritize Wat Arun and the longtail boat canal experience, as these offer the most iconic Bangkok imagery and authentic cultural immersion.
Accessibility
Museum Siam offers wheelchair access to most galleries and has elevators between floors. Wat Arun's main prang requires climbing steep stairs, which may not be accessible for all mobility levels; ground-level temple areas remain fully accessible.

Overview
The Bangkok Canal Highlight Tour is a great way to see some of the most popular sites in Bangkok. This tour will take you to three different locations, including the Siam Museum, Longtail Boat and Wat Arun, where you will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful canals of Bangkok.
Meet our Tour Guide at MRT Sanamchai Exit 1 at 12:30 pm. Start this afternoon by travel to Museum Siam reveals several exhibits displaying the national identity and history of Thai people and their relationships with neighboring cultures. This museum houses over 100,000 artifacts from Thailand's past. It also has an incredible garden that will be sure to delight both kids and adults alike! The concept of the museum is 'Play + Learn = Joyously', achieved through a series of interactive exhibits.
Next, hop on a traditional longtail boat to meander through the quaint canals taking in the quieter side of Bangkok life, which would not be complete without an exploration of the spectacular and iconic Wat Arun.
Take time to explore the iconic temple towering 79 metres over the Chao Phraya River offering panorama across Bangkok from the Thonburi side. It overlooks the Chao Phraya River and offers breathtaking views from its spires. The temple itself was built in 1782 by King Rama I as part of a larger project that included many other temples throughout Bangkok as well as several palaces. Finally, head back across the river and walk back to MRT Station.
