Local Legends & Stories

Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The morning session (6:30–11:30 am) is cooler and offers the best elephant activity levels, especially bathing and feeding. The dry season from November to February brings clearer skies and more comfortable temperatures, though the sanctuary is open year-round.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Early morning light near the riverbank creates soft golden photos with minimal glare
-
Ask your mahout to position you and your elephant near the large banyan trees for natural framing
-
Photos are taken by the sanctuary’s photographer and shared via Facebook—downloadable for free
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Tap the elephant’s chest gently before petting—it’s a traditional gesture of respect in Thai elephant handling. Avoid touching the head or trunk directly unless the mahout invites it.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Elephant birthdays are celebrated monthly with special treats and photos—ask your mahout if you're visiting during one
-
Valentine’s Day and Songkran (Thai New Year) often feature themed feeding activities and photo ops
-
Peak seasons are school holidays (April, July, December) and Thai public holidays—book early
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Stay within designated zones—elephants are large, gentle, but unpredictable animals
-
Use provided non-slip sandals in the river area to prevent slips on muddy banks
-
Drink only the bottled water provided; tap water is not served to guests
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
The price starts at THB 540 per person and includes full-day access, lunch, roundtrip transfer, and elephant care activities. Children aged 3–11 receive a discounted rate, and children under 3 are free with adult supervision.
Visit Duration
The full experience lasts approximately 5 hours from pickup to return. If short on time, prioritize the bathing and feeding sessions (30–45 minutes each) and photo opportunity—the most memorable moments.
Accessibility
The sanctuary is wheelchair accessible with paved pathways to the main feeding and bathing zones, though terrain near the riverbank is natural and may be uneven—staff assist with transfers on request
