If visiting in the warmer months be sure to bring your swimmers as the beaches are the perfect escape from the crowded beaches on the mainland. The island is commonly considered to be a 'Noah's Ark', as it is rich with wildlife from wallabies and kangaroos to rare Cape Barren Geese, wombats and the recently relocated Tasmanian Devils. The land isn't the only part of the island brimming with wildlife, the waters surrounding are often frequented by dolphins, seals, penguins and whales during migration season. This is an enjoyable day to a lesser known destination off the coast of Tasmania. Guests are asked to bring all necessities themselves and be able to carry it all for the entire day. The island has limited facilities, meaning food and water is to be bought prior and brought on the trip. As mentioned above, getting around the island is by foot only and tour groups will cover up to 10 kilometres all of which is considered an easy grade.
