Best way to get from Chiang Mai to Pai? Bus, motorcycle, or hired driver? Budget traveler here.

I've read a few blog posts but they all seem outdated.
Any input appreciated.

The minivan from Chiang Mai to Pai takes about 3 hours and costs around 150 baht. It's a winding mountain road so motion sickness meds help. Motorcycles are doable but dangerous on those curves—skip it unless you're experienced.
