Can I drive a motorbike from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City as a solo female traveler?
We're heading to Vietnam in a couple of months and trying to sort this out.

It's doable but not recommended for inexperienced riders—the Ho Chi Minh Highway is busy and chaotic. Many solo female travelers prefer the open-sided sleeper buses or trains between cities and rent scooters only locally. If you do ride, start with the northern mountain routes and get an international driving permit.
