Yes, Laos is one of Southeast Asia's cheapest destinations. Guesthouses run 150,000-300,000 LAK per night, meals 30,000-60,000 LAK, and slow boats between the two towns cost about 150,000 LAK. Just bring cash — ATMs charge steep fees and sometimes run dry.
