Question Vietnam

Do US citizens need a visa in advance for Vietnam, or can they get a visa on arrival at Hanoi airport?

Apologies if this is a repeat question — I've read a few blog posts about do US citizens need a visa in advance for Vietnam, or can they get a visa on ... but they all seem outdated. Thanks!

US citizens must obtain an e‑visa or visa on arrival pre‑approved online; a visa on arrival requires a pre‑approval letter from a Vietnamese agency. Apply at least 3‑5 days before travel to avoid delays at immigration.
