How easy is it to get around Uzbekistan without speaking Russian or Uzbek?
I've read a few blog posts but they all seem outdated.

English proficiency is low outside Tashkent, but the new tourist infrastructure makes navigation easier. The intercity train network is excellent and most stations have English signage. Download Google Translate with offline Russian packs, and learn a few basic Uzbek phrases—locals deeply appreciate the effort and it opens doors.
