How many days do I need for a solo traveler to do the Hill Country loop? Train vs driver?

Five to six days is comfortable for the Colombo–Kandy–Nuwara Eliya–Ella loop. The train between Kandy and Ella is legendary—book first class and go early morning. A driver for the rest keeps things flexible without the stress of buses.
