Is it safe to drink tap water in Bali, or should I always buy bottled water?

So here's the thing — Would really appreciate input on is it safe to drink tap water in Bali, or should I always buy bottled water from people who've actually been to Bali. Would really appreciate any advice.

Tap water in Bali is not considered safe for drinking due to possible contamination; stick to bottled, filtered, or boiled water. Many hotels provide complimentary bottled water, and refilling stations are common in tourist areas.
