What's the best time to visit Bali to avoid rain and huge crowds?

The sweet spot is April-May or September-October—shoulder seasons with decent weather and fewer tourists. July-August is dry but packed with international visitors. December through February is rainy season but still warm; you'll find deals and a more relaxed vibe if you don't mind afternoon showers.
