Perfect Timing

When to visit for the best experience

The best time to visit is on a weekday morning during the spring cherry blossom season or the vibrant autumn foliage months of October and November. Arriving early helps you beat the crowds and secure good viewing spots for the popular midday ninja shows and afternoon oiran parades.

Photography Guide

Capture the perfect shots

  • Capture the stunning Oiran parade using a fast shutter speed to freeze the intricate details of the elaborate kimonos and hair ornaments in motion.

  • Utilize the soft, natural morning light to photograph the traditional wooden architecture and lantern-lit streets before the midday sun creates harsh shadows.

  • Ask the in-character street performers for a posed portrait, as they are highly trained to provide authentic and dramatic reactions for your camera.

Cultural Etiquette

Respect local customs and traditions

When interacting with the park's actors, try using simple Japanese greetings to enhance the immersive roleplay experience. Remember to bow slightly when greeting samurai or merchants, and always ask for permission before taking close-up photos of the performers.

Special Events & Experiences

Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights

  • Edo Wonderland Illumination: Special evening light-ups and night parades during the winter holiday season.

  • Spring Ninja Festival: Enhanced ninja training workshops and special guest performances during the Golden Week holidays in May.

  • Autumn Samurai Parade: Extended oiran and samurai processions celebrating the beautiful fall foliage in November.

Important Guidelines & Safety

Essential safety information and guidelines

  • Stay behind the designated safety lines during the water art and fire-based performances to avoid accidental splashes or sparks.

  • Be mindful of uneven surfaces and wooden steps inside the historical buildings, especially if you are wearing rented traditional sandals.
