Skip the hassle of buying individual tickets and enjoy unlimited rides to iconic landmarks like the Peace Memorial Park and the floating torii gate, complete with exclusive discount coupons for local attractions.
Local Legends & Stories
Hiroshima's streetcars are deeply woven into the city's post-war recovery, with some original trams surviving the atomic bombing and continuing to run today as symbols of resilience and peace. Meanwhile, Miyajima Island is historically revered as a sacred dwelling of the gods, where the iconic floating torii gate was built in the sea to keep commoners from treading on holy ground.
Must Do Experiences
-
Ride the historic Hiroshima streetcars to explore the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome.
-
Take the included ferry to Miyajima Island to witness the breathtaking floating torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine.
-
Use your pass to hop on and off route buses to visit the stunning Shukkeien Garden and Hiroshima Castle.
-

Hidden Gems
-
Use the streetcar network to reach the quiet, tree-lined streets of the Hijiyama Park area, a favorite spot for locals to enjoy panoramic city views and contemporary art at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art.
-
Take a short ferry ride included in your pass to explore the lesser-known walking trails behind Miyajima's main shrine, leading to peaceful pagodas and wild deer habitats away from the main crowds.
-
Look out for the retro-themed streetcars, like the Taisho-era replica or the Toden tram, which occasionally run on the routes covered by your pass and offer a nostalgic ride through the city.

Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The best time to use your pass is during the mild spring and vibrant autumn seasons, which offer comfortable weather for exploring both the city and Miyajima. Start your day early around 8:30 AM to beat the midday crowds at popular spots like the Peace Memorial Park and to catch the ferry to Miyajima before the main tourist rush. Keep in mind that streetcars and buses can get quite crowded during weekday rush hours, so plan your transit accordingly.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture the iconic Hiroshima streetcars against the backdrop of the modern cityscape or the lush greenery of Peace Boulevard during the golden hour just before sunset.
-
When photographing the floating torii gate on Miyajima, check the local tide schedules in advance to decide whether you want to capture it surrounded by water at high tide or up close on the sandbar at low tide.
-
Always be mindful of other passengers and avoid using flash or blocking the aisles when taking photos inside the historic streetcars or on the crowded Miyajima ferries.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
When riding public transport in Hiroshima, it is customary to queue orderly at designated stops and keep your voice down to respect fellow passengers. On Miyajima Island, remember that the wild deer are considered sacred messengers of the gods; admire them from a distance and never feed them or leave paper maps where they might eat them. Tipping is not practiced in Japan, so simply offer a polite bow and a thank you to the transport staff and drivers when alighting.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Hiroshima Flower Festival in May transforms Peace Boulevard into a vibrant sea of blooms, easily accessible via your streetcar pass.
-
The Miyajima Water Fireworks Festival in August offers a spectacular evening display, though you should check the last ferry return times included in your pass.
-
Autumn illuminations at Shukkeien Garden and Miyajima's Momijidani Park provide stunning evening photo opportunities during November.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Hold onto the handrails firmly when riding the streetcars and ferries, as they can experience sudden stops or gentle swaying on the water.
-
Stay within the marked pedestrian crossings and designated waiting areas at tram stops, as the tracks are shared with regular vehicular traffic.
-
Keep a close eye on your belongings and secure your bags when navigating through crowded transit hubs like JR Hiroshima Station or the Miyajima ferry terminals.
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
The Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass offers a flat-rate, highly cost-effective alternative to buying individual tickets for streetcars, buses, and ferries, with specific one-day and two-day options available. Child passes are available at a discounted rate for ages 6 to 12, while children under 6 can typically ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Visit Duration
A one-day pass is perfect for a fast-paced highlights tour of Hiroshima City and a quick trip to Miyajima, while the two-day pass is highly recommended to fully explore Miyajima's hiking trails and Hiroshima's museums at a relaxed pace. If short on time, prioritize the Peace Memorial Park in the morning and take an early afternoon ferry to Miyajima to see the torii gate before dusk.
Accessibility
Most modern Hiroshima streetcars and route buses are equipped with low-floor designs and ramps for wheelchair access, and the Miyajima ferries offer accessible boarding and designated seating areas. However, some older historic trams may have steps, so look out for the universal access symbols at stops or ask station staff for assistance.
