Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The best time to embark on this coastal tour is during the mild spring or autumn months when the skies are clear, offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs. Early morning departures ensure you beat the midday crowds at Kishi Station and arrive at Toretore Market just as the freshest daily catches are being prepared for lunch.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture the whimsical cat-themed train cars and station architecture at Kishi Station using bright, natural daylight for the most vibrant colors.
-
Head to the edge of the Senjojiki rock formations during the late afternoon to photograph the dramatic contrast between the white rocks and the deep blue ocean.
-
When shooting the towering cliffs and crashing waves at Sandanbeki, use a fast shutter speed to freeze the dynamic water splashing against the rocks.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
When visiting Kishi Station, remember to treat the feline stationmasters with respect by observing them quietly without using flash photography or attempting to touch them while they are on duty. At the Toretore Market, it is customary to politely ask vendors before sampling or taking close-up photos of their seafood displays, and always dispose of your trash in the designated bins.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Visit during the Shirahama Beach Fireworks Festival in summer to potentially catch spectacular evening pyrotechnics reflecting off the ocean if your tour schedule aligns.
-
Experience the vibrant autumn harvest season when the Toretore Market is overflowing with freshly picked Wakayama mandarin oranges and seasonal Pacific saury.

Join the lively local celebrations during the Nanki Shirahama Spring Festival, which often features traditional dances and special market promotions.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Stay strictly behind the safety barriers and designated walking paths at Sandanbeki and Senjojiki, as the cliff edges can be steep and the rocks slippery near the water.
-
Keep a close eye on your personal belongings and wallets when navigating the busy, crowded aisles of the Toretore Market.
-
Ensure you stay hydrated and apply sunscreen during the summer months, as the coastal areas offer very little shade from the direct sun.
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
The tour includes round-trip shared transfers and an English-speaking guide, covering the basic itinerary costs. However, personal expenses such as the optional 190 yen per station ride on the Tama Densha cat train, meals at Toretore Market, and any additional onsen entry fees are not included and should be paid on the day.
Visit Duration
This comprehensive day tour spans approximately ten to eleven hours from your morning pickup in Osaka to your evening return. If you are short on time at any stop, prioritize grabbing a quick seafood snack at Toretore Market and securing your photos at the iconic Kishi Station cat platform.
