Local Legends & Stories
While not steeped in ancient Japanese folklore, the studio itself has quickly become a modern legend in Nerima, transforming a historic Toshimaen amusement park site into a global pilgrimage destination for wizarding fans. Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The best time to visit is right at your first scheduled morning time slot to beat the crowds and enjoy a more relaxed pace through the interactive exhibits. Weekdays outside of Japanese public holidays and school vacation periods will offer a significantly quieter experience. Since the majority of the tour is indoors, it is an excellent year-round activity regardless of Tokyo's humid summers or chilly winters.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Photography is encouraged throughout the tour, but tripods, selfie sticks, and flash photography are strictly prohibited to protect the delicate props.
-
Capture the best lighting in the Great Hall during your visit, as the atmospheric chandeliers and house banners create a stunning, moody backdrop.
-
Make sure to record a video at the green screen experiences, as you can purchase a digital copy of yourself riding a broomstick or flying the Ford Anglia after the tour.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
As is customary in Japan, please be mindful of noise levels and avoid blocking walkways when taking photos to ensure a pleasant experience for fellow visitors. Tipping is not practiced or expected in Japan, including at the cafes and shops within the studio. Please follow the designated one-way flow of the tour and refrain from touching the exhibits unless explicitly marked as interactive.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
During the winter holiday season, the Great Hall and Diagon Alley are beautifully decorated with massive Christmas trees and festive wizarding ornaments.
-
Halloween brings spooky transformations to the sets, featuring giant pumpkins, dark decorations, and special themed treats at the cafes.
-
Spring and summer often feature limited-time exhibitions highlighting specific aspects of filmmaking, such as costume design or magical creature creation.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Keep a close eye on young children, especially in dimly lit areas like the Forbidden Forest and the dark corridors of the Ministry of Magic.
-
Stay behind the designated barriers and ropes to protect both yourself and the fragile, multi-million-dollar movie props.
-
If you are sensitive to sudden loud noises or flashing lights, be prepared in the special effects demonstration areas and the Dementor corridor.
