About LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort

Dive into a world of brick-built wonders at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, Asia's first LEGOLAND theme park featuring over 70 hands-on rides, slides, and attractions. Perfect for families with children aged 2 to 12, this ultimate holiday destination seamlessly combines a thrilling Theme Park, a splashing Water Park, and the fascinating SEA LIFE aquarium for an unforgettable Johor getaway.

Local Legends & Stories

While LEGOLAND is a modern marvel, it sits in Iskandar Puteri, a rapidly developing region in Johor that was once rich in pepper and gambier plantations. Today, the resort itself is building its own modern legends by collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism to showcase Malaysian heritage through millions of interlocking plastic bricks.

Must Do Experiences

  • Explore Miniland to see stunning, intricate LEGO replicas of famous Asian landmarks and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

  • Brave the Dragon roller coaster, a thrilling dark ride that speeds through a medieval castle before bursting outside.

  • Get soaked and build your own floating vessel at the Build-A-Raft River in the LEGOLAND Water Park.

  • Meet thousands of marine creatures and interact with touch pools at the SEA LIFE Malaysia aquarium.

Hidden Gems

  • Head to the LEGO Studios 4D cinema early in the day to enjoy a refreshing air-conditioned break with immersive 3D films and physical effects.

  • Look out for the hidden Mickey Mouse brick build tucked away somewhere in Miniland, a fun Easter egg for observant visitors.

  • Visit the Big Shop near the entrance right before closing time to avoid the midday crowds and snag exclusive Malaysia-themed LEGO souvenirs.

What Makes it Special

  • It is the first and only LEGOLAND in Asia, offering a comprehensive resort experience with a Theme Park, Water Park, Hotel, and SEA LIFE all in one location.

  • The resort actively celebrates local culture with spectacular, authentically crafted LEGO brick displays for festivals like Lunar New Year and Hari Raya.

  • It offers unbeatable value for frequent visitors through the LEGOLAND Annual Pass, granting unlimited access to the parks.

Perfect Timing

When to visit for the best experience

The best time to visit is on a weekday morning right after the 10:00 AM opening to enjoy the shortest queues and cooler temperatures before the midday Johor heat peaks. If you must visit on a weekend or during Malaysian school holidays, arrive early and prioritize the major roller coasters and water slides first thing in the morning. Keep an eye on the weather forecast, as sudden tropical afternoon showers are common, though many rides and attractions remain open in light rain.

Photography Guide

Capture the perfect shots

  • Capture the intricate details of Miniland in the late afternoon when the golden hour lighting highlights the tiny LEGO figures and casts long, dramatic shadows.

  • Take a family portrait in front of the giant LEGO brick entrance sign right after opening when the area is free of heavy crowds.

  • Use a waterproof pouch or action camera if you want to snap photos while enjoying the Water Park slides and the Build-A-Raft River.

Cultural Etiquette

Respect local customs and traditions

Malaysia is a multicultural country, and while LEGOLAND is a relaxed, family-friendly environment, it is respectful to dress modestly when walking around the broader Johor area outside the resort. The park provides dedicated prayer rooms for Muslim visitors, reflecting the local culture and ensuring all guests feel comfortable and accommodated during their stay. Tipping is not expected or required at the park's restaurants and cafes.

Special Events & Experiences

Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights

  • Experience the vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations featuring exclusive, massive LEGO brick zodiac animal builds and traditional lion dance performances.

  • Join the festive Hari Raya Aidilfitri events, complete with beautifully crafted LEGO ketupat displays and cultural workshops for the kids.

  • Do not miss the spooky yet family-friendly Halloween Brick-or-Treat events in October, featuring costume parades, trick-or-treat trails, and themed decorations.

Important Guidelines & Safety

Essential safety information and guidelines

  • Apply waterproof sunscreen generously and reapply throughout the day, as the Johor sun can be intense even on cloudy days, especially in the open areas of the Water Park.

  • Ensure children meet the specific height requirements for rides before queuing, as staff will strictly enforce these rules for safety.

  • Stay hydrated by carrying a refillable water bottle and utilizing the water fountains located throughout the Theme Park and Water Park.
