About Dickson Dragon Cruise
The Dickson Dragon Cruise offers a captivating sunset journey aboard a luxurious Trimaran Pontoon boat crafted in Thailand, where panoramic views of Port Dickson's coastline, a floating saltwater jacuzzi, live karaoke, and a sizzling BBQ grill combine for an unforgettable evening experience. Perfect for families couples and groups seeking fun and relaxation, it's one of the most distinctive cruise offerings in Negeri Sembilan.
Local Legends & Stories
Port Dickson's coastline along the Straits of Melaka has historically served as a safe anchorage for ancient trading vessels — locals whisper stories of Chinese pirate queen Zheng Yi Sao possibly sailing these waters centuries ago. Today the area remains rich in maritime heritage, with coastal villages preserving traditional fishing customs.
Must Do Experiences
-
Relax in the floating saltwater jacuzzi while watching the sunset
-
Participate in a group karaoke session with free use of the onboard system
-
Savor fresh grilled seafood and meats from the BBQ station
-
Capture breathtaking panoramic sunset views over the Straits of Melaka
Hidden Gems
-
The onboard caklempong — a traditional Malay brass gong instrument — is available for guests to try and record memories
-
The jacuzzi uses natural saltwater circulated from the surrounding strait, offering a unique spa-like experience without leaving the boat
-
Weekday departures often feature fewer crowds and more intimate table seating arrangements
What Makes it Special
-
It's Malaysia's only trimaran pontoon cruise designed and built in Phuket Thailand with a 60-passenger capacity
-
The boat combines Thai craftsmanship with Malaysian hospitality for one-of-a-kind cruise experience
-
Features both lively disco-karaoke atmosphere by night and serene jacuzzi relaxation during golden hour
Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
Weekend sunset cruises depart at 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM, with the 6:30 PM slot offering the darkest skies for photography and fewer queue times at the jacuzzi. The best months are February to April and August to October when the weather is typically dry and visibility excellent — avoid monsoon season November to January when sea conditions may be rougher and schedules occasionally disrupted.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Position yourself on the upper deck starboard side for unobstructed sunset shots during the last 20 minutes of cruising
-
Use golden hour lighting right before full sunset for warm skin tones and reflections on the saltwater jacuzzi
-
No professional tripods allowed — drones are strictly prohibited over the marina and coastal waters
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Malaysian culture values modesty — avoid overly revealing swimwear when moving between indoor and outdoor areas. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory; a small gift or gesture to the crew for exceptional service is warmly received. Always remove footwear before entering covered indoor spaces aboard the boat.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year cruises feature special menus themed decorations, and limited-edition photo backdrops. Mid-Autumn Festival cruises include mooncake tasting and lantern displays. Peak seasons are school holidays December festive season and public holidays — book 2-3 weeks in advance for preferred time slots.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
The jacuzzi is shallow (under 1 meter) and guests must supervise children at all times — no diving or running allowed
-
All passengers undergo a safety briefing and life jacket check before departure — follow crew instructions during the trip
-
Sunscreen is essential — the reflectivity off the water increases UV exposure significantly even on cloudy days
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
Prices start from MYR 49.28 per person for public sunset cruises with no hidden charges — combo deals with nearby attractions occasionally available during festive seasons. Children aged 3-11 receive discounted rates and infants under 2 ride free with adult supervision. Group bookings of 15+ receive a 10% bulk discount upon request.
Visit Duration
The scheduled cruise duration is 90 minutes — if short on time prioritize the jacuzzi experience during golden hour and enjoy dinner at the BBQ before karaoke starts. Full experience including pre-cruise check-in sunset viewing dinner and entertainment runs approximately 2.5 hours total.
Accessibility
The marina premises include wheelchair-accessible parking and pathways to the boarding point. However the boat itself has limited accessibility — narrow gangways and steps between decks make it unsuitable for motorized wheelchairs. Staff assist with manual mobility aids where possible and passengers with mobility challenges are encouraged to contact the operator before booking.
