About Boracay sunset sailing experience | shared boat/private charter | Romantic sailing boat experience
Set sail on a traditional Filipino paraw and glide across Boracay's shimmering waters as the sky transforms into a canvas of gold and coral. This wind-powered outrigger experience blends romance, relaxation, and authentic island charm—perfect for couples, solo travelers, or friends seeking an unforgettable sunset cruise.
Local Legends & Stories
The paraw has been a symbol of Filipino seafaring heritage for centuries, used by coastal communities for fishing and transport long before modern boats arrived. Locals believe that sailing at sunset brings good fortune and is a time when the boundary between the sea and sky feels most magical.
Must Do Experiences
-
Lie back on the netted outriggers and soak in panoramic ocean views while the paraw catches the breeze. Watch Boracay's legendary sunset paint the sky in shades of orange, pink, and purple from the heart of the sea. Enjoy the peaceful silence of a motor-free sail, broken only by the gentle lapping of waves and distant laughter.
Hidden Gems
-
Visit during the late afternoon to catch both the golden hour and the full sunset in one smooth glide. Ask your crew about local sailing tales—paraw boats have been part of Filipino maritime life for generations. Keep an eye out for flying fish and dolphins that sometimes appear near the boat as the sun dips below the horizon.
What Makes it Special
-
Sail aboard an authentic, wind-powered paraw—an eco-friendly tradition passed down through Filipino coastal communities. Drift without engine noise, surrounded only by the sound of wind and waves, creating a truly serene and romantic atmosphere. Relax on the signature netted outriggers, a unique feature that offers elevated views and a laid-back island vibe.
Available Facilities
Perfect Timing
When to visit for the best experience
The best time for a sunset cruise is during the dry season from November to May, when skies are clear and sunsets are most vibrant. Arrive in the late afternoon to secure the best spots and enjoy the full golden-to-twilight transition.
Photography Guide
Capture the perfect shots
-
Capture the sunset from the netted outriggers for a unique low-angle shot with the horizon framing your image. Use a camera with good low-light performance or switch to smartphone night mode as the sky darkens. Avoid flash and let the natural glow of the setting sun create warm, cinematic tones.
Cultural Etiquette
Respect local customs and traditions
Filipino hospitality is warm and welcoming—greeting your crew with a smile and a simple 'magandang hapon' (good afternoon) goes a long way. Respect the boat's traditional nature by moving carefully and avoiding loud behavior, as the paraw is a cherished part of local maritime culture.
Special Events & Experiences
Enhanced experiences and seasonal highlights
-
Join the festive atmosphere during the Boracay Ymas Festival in January, where local celebrations add cultural vibrancy to the island. Special romantic packages are often available around Valentine's Day and anniversary seasons, featuring complimentary refreshments.
Important Guidelines & Safety
Essential safety information and guidelines
-
Life jackets are provided and should be worn if recommended by the crew, especially if you're new to sailing. Hold onto the boat's rails when moving around, and avoid sudden movements that could affect balance. If you're prone to seasickness, take preventive medication before boarding.
Visitor Information
Entry Fee
Pricing varies depending on whether you choose a shared boat or private charter, with sunset cruises typically commanding a premium. Check with the operator for current rates and any seasonal promotions.
