The lower elevation areas like the Monster Village and University Pool offer gentle family-friendly walks, though reaching higher landmarks requires navigating steep stairs that will challenge those with limited mobility.
The general entrance fee covers the forest trails and University Pool, but accessing the Xitou Sky Walk requires purchasing a separate ticket at the bridge entrance.
There are several restaurants and food stalls located near the entrance and Monster Village serving local bamboo-themed dishes, but options become non-existent once you venture deeper into the forest trails.
Re-entry is generally not permitted on a standard single-day ticket unless you get a hand stamp or special clearance from the ticketing booth before exiting the main gates.
Visitors frequently spot Taiwanese macaques, white-faced flycatchers, and various squirrels, while the flora is dominated by towering Japanese cedar, Taiwan cedar, and extensive bamboo groves.

The climate of Xitou Nature Education Park is cool all year round, and there are endless tourists all year round. One of the famous attractions is the sacred red juniper tree wrapped in boulders. It is hollow and decayed but stands full of vitality. And beside the forest road leading to the sacred tree, there is a cedar forest that has been through for half a century, and its canopy is very well protected. The staff of the park will build an air corridor for the observation of the artificial forest canopy. This air corridor is about 180 meters long, and the height is more than 20 meters above the ground (equivalent to a 7-story building), which will give you a wonderful outdoor experience.
