Perfect Timing

When to visit for the best experience

  • Position yourself near the riverbank during bathtime for natural backlight and water reflections

  • Early morning provides soft, golden light perfect for elephant close-ups without harsh shadows

  • Photos are automatically uploaded to the sanctuary’s Facebook page — ask your guide for access right after the experience to ensure availability

Cultural Etiquette

Respect local customs and traditions

Dress respectfully — shoulders and knees covered, especially when near local village areas Avoid touching elephants’ heads, which is considered disrespectful in Thai culture Tipping guides and staff is appreciated but not expected; many locals consider it polite to offer a small token of thanks verbally

Special Events & Experiences

  • Songkran Water Festival in April includes a special water blessing ceremony with the elephants

  • Loy Krathong in November features lantern releases and evening bathing sessions with glowing effects

  • Peak visitor season is December–January — book early for morning slots and private group options
