Mexico visa — frequently asked questions

Yes, if they hold a valid visa or permanent residence from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, or any Schengen country, they can travel to Mexico visa-free for tourism or business for up to 180 days. Otherwise, Indians must obtain a consular visa.
No. The exemption is document-based: you simply travel and present your valid US visa (or Canada/UK/Japan/Schengen visa or residence) to the airline and immigration. The SAE electronic authorization is only for Russian, Turkish and Ukrainian nationals.
The SAE (Sistema de Autorizacion Electronica) is a free, single-entry online travel authorization for air travellers from Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, valid for 30 days from issue and allowing a stay of up to 180 days. It does not apply to Indian or Singapore nationals.
The SAE is free of charge. It is requested online and approval is normally emailed within 24 hours (up to 48 hours). It is valid for a single air entry only, not by land or sea.
No. Singapore passport holders are visa-free for Mexico and may stay up to 180 days for tourism or business without any visa or electronic authorization.
They must apply for a consular Visitor Visa at a Mexican Embassy/Consulate (e.g. New Delhi), attending an in-person interview with proof of funds, employment and travel plans. There is no visa on arrival for Indians.
The foreign visa must be valid (unexpired) at the time of travel. Immigration officers grant entry based on that valid document, so an expired visa does not qualify you for the exemption.
No. Both cover only visitor activities (tourism, business meetings, transit) without paid/remunerated work. Employment requires a separate work-authorized visa processed through INM.
