Overview
Open-sided trolleys in bright colours work their way through Waikiki and out across Honolulu, and the lack of windows is the whole point — you sit with the warm air moving past, the sound of the street around you, and nothing between you and the view.
Each line has its own character. The Pink Line shuttles between Waikiki and the Ala Moana shops at high frequency. The Green Line climbs toward Diamond Head and the crater trail. The Blue Line follows the southeast coast past Hanauma Bay, the Halona Blowhole and cliffs dropping straight into blue water.
The Red Line covers the older city — Iolani Palace, the last royal residence on American soil, the Kamehameha statue, Chinatown's markets and the Bishop Museum. Drivers and guides talk as you go, and you get on and off wherever something catches your eye.
